About Us

The Minnesota Eye Foundation was formed to provide education for eye care providers, vision research, and eye care for those who can’t afford it otherwise. We receive several donations each year, often even from patients, to help support the work of the foundation. The foundation is responsible for allowing our ophthalmology and optometry fellows to present their research projects at major eye meetings each year. We sponsor an annual continuing education day for optometrists – Perspectives in Eye Care. Perspectives covers the latest advances and newest technology in ophthalmology. One of the major charitable events that we do is our charity outreach surgical dates – which has grown from one day to two days over the last several years. We provide many needed surgical procedures for patients ranging from corneal transplants to oculoplastic and glaucoma and cataract surgery.
